Apple iPhone 13 series may use Qualcomm x60 baseband chip for 5G support

A report claims in new agreement in between Apple and Qualcomm for the all-new iPhone 12 series may be extended to the next year’s iPhone 13 series debut in adopting Qualcomm 5G baseband.

The MacRumors blog dug into Apple’s roadmap for using Qualcomm 5G baseband in future Apple products stuck to iPhone’s 13 series only.

Qualcomm shows that Apple plans to launch new iPhone’s products using the new Snapdragon X60 baseband from June 1 2021 to May 31, 2021, in the Apple Developer conference in 2021.

This also means that the iPhone 12 will be launching in the second year of next year Q3 2021 is expected to use the X60 Snapdragon 5G chip with some improvement seen in iPhone’s 13 series in 5G.

The Qualcomm X60 baseband 5G modem is based on 5nm fabrication technology which has higher power efficiency and a smaller footprint. Qualcomm launch Snapdragon X60 baseband in February 2021, it said that the 5G smartphones equipped with this chip will begin to be launched in 2021.
