Korean Digitimes revels Apple iPhone 13 series will feature rear lens with TOF sensor in 2021

Apple confirmed that the next year iPhone 13 series will be launch in the month of September next year 2021.

The South Korean Digi times publication has reported that the Apple supply chain authoritative reported that the popularity of the iPhone 12 pro series with a rear-lens time difference (TOF) laser scanner, the market that there will be total 4 models next year.

It is expected the iPhone 13 Pro Max will equipped with TOF sensor along with LIDAR and rear camera lens. The Apple iPhone 13 models in 2021 will be fully interoduced into LiDaR Scanner using D-TOF technology.

The VCSEL chips used by Apple’s ToF LiDaR in addition to the products joint developed by Apple and Amercian firm Lumentum, will also added to II- VI as the second supplier.

According to source, Winmao is continuing to expand the purchase of TOF-specific VCSEL testing and measurement equipment, an increase of about 20 to 30%. The Face ID on the iPhone Plus the number of VCSELs related to the ToF lens is expected to be reduced from 3 this year to 2.

The upcoming Apple iPhone 13 is equipped with D-ToF, the Android camp is expected to approach to D-ToF technology applications.
