Department of India announce the 5G spectrum bands for auction soon

The report came from the Department of India (DOT) will soon announce the 5G spectrum bands via vital for rolling out 5G services.

The traditional users like defence, broadcasting ministry and the department of space. The DOT is also in talks with Defence Ministry, Broadcasting Ministry and the Department of Space regarding this development. The sub-bands GHZ 600HZ mid and millimetre wave bands for providing services said Ramchand.

The Trai secretary SK Gupta said the telecom department was following Trai’s recommendations of holding an auction of 3300-3600Mhz bands for 5G services. K Ramchand , he added that the DoT may conduct auctions soon.

I hope that auction will be done very soon, identifications of spectrum in milimeter-wave is important to rollout 5G services, Gupta said.

The Government is allocating just 175 MHz (3425-3600Mhz) for 5G after ISRO and the Department of Space(DoS) raised concern in allowing 3400-3425 MHz portion for 5G since they need for NaViC application.

Reliance Jio founder Mukesh Ambani already confirmed the launch of Jio 5G in the month of June, 2021 next year to test the trails run in some areas of India. Jio is also working with Chinese smartphone maker Realme to build an affordable smartphone at cheaper price for 5G network.
