Government all set to launch a ‘Brand India’ mission 2021

The government of India ‘Centre’ is all set to launch a “Brand India’ mission to focused on the promotion of quality products that are manufactured in the country.

The minister of India “Piyush Goyal led commerce and industry ministry is based on similar policies countries including the US, Switzerland, Germany, France which regulate claims made to goods produced in their jurisdiction.

In case of foods products, the requirements is 80 percent local production. Goyal’s plan discussed with the Quality Council of India and other agencies last week is looking at country of origin certifications which will be voluntary with self-certification to be by certain entitires.

The eligible for the tag manufactured goods producers needs to be registered in India and should comply with the prescribed health and safety sandards. A minimum 20 percent content is being discussdd with the final assembly required in India.

After the recent tensions with China, PM Narendra Modi announced the Made in India and AtmanirBhar Bharat plans which inviting global tech companies to start manufacturing in India as part of global part value chain to product products for exports to others countries.

The Brand India mission can be launched in around a year with the initial plan to be tested through a few changes. Those who opt for the scheme may be given recognition by the government emarketplace and other platforms preference in public purchase and other benefits including those under agreements.
