The photo-sharing platform Instagram owned by the Facebook announced the ‘Instagram Lite’ app in India that uses less space and consumes lesser date before it rolls out to several users in the India.
Facebook shared in an interview with ET, India has been very important country for testing new innovation. We will look into further more to expand out business in India with Facebook owned products like WhatsApp messenger, Instagram and Facebook.
The Instagram Lite is the similar to the original Instagram app experience but there are some features that are not currently added such as Reels, Shopping and IGTV. The app will be available in Bangla, Guajarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.
The TikTok is setting global trends in short video in among the Indian and globally. Government of India had announced the ban on TikTok – Short video app in India on June 16. After the ban, Facebook announced the Reels similar video platform feature in Instagram.
Facebook told, We saw a huge potential in people going Live together on Instagram especially during the Pandemic. Why India is one of the first countries where we launched Live rooms where now up to four people one go live together on Instagram.
In the new edition, the programme has been attuned to incorporate the new feature on Instagram especially Reels. It will go for a period of six months and will continue to offers masterclasses from internal and external experts.
