National master plan for providing multi-model connectivity in India

Government of Department of Commerce for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade ( DPIIT) said that all the infrastructure-related timeline by 2024, a multi-modal connectivity of a real global quality will be provided to various production centers in the country.

Guruprasad Mohapatra said, “We are all aware that India needs to do a lot for improving logistics in the country. One major initiative that is expected to be announced by the government soon is a national master plan for providing multi-modal connectivity all across the country when any economic activity is happening, could be an industry.

The logistics under the Department of Commerce is also working on a policy have been defined to reduce logistics cost and time. I am sure that these initiatives for industry will see a lot of improvement in the logistics section in coming years. He also expressed hope that more and more compliance burden for the industry would be reduced in the next few months.

We are working on setting up a single-window system for faster approvals and clearances both a center and state level, the secretary said it is expected to put in place by March-end. He reveals that the vehicle scrappage policy it is under consideration of the Ministry of Road transport.
