Union Minister Ravi Shankra Prasad had announced earlier on 25 FeB, The Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code Rules 2021 as part of Section 79 of the Information Technology Act.

Social Media intermediaries will also have to publish monthly blocking and compliance reports, apart from hiring large teams in India such as content in 36 hours from government agencies and 24 hours.

The rules about digital media and OTT focus more on in-house and self-regulation mechanisms but they must be responsible for the abuse and any content flagged by authorities within 36 hours. It should be categories in different content ratings.
