A popular online learning platform in India named Unacademy funded by some share of Chinese and Facebook seems to have biggest data leak of around 2.2 crore users put users personal information’s related their emails, profile, contact number, interest are sold at dark web at price $2,000 dollars ( roughtly Rs 1,51,800 ) according to report by US-based cybersecurity firm Cyble. The database includes username, hashed passwords, first and last name.
Unacademy has confirmed the breach in a statement to change their password immediately. Cyble was able to discover the Unacademy database available for purchase on the dark web on May 3, reports by Bleeping Computers. The exposed database is said to have a total of 2,19,09,707 users records are students or teachers during this lockdown period is going on India, new profiles being added by the app.
Unacademy online learning platform database also reveals the leak of cooperate accounts such as companies names as Cognizant, Google, Infosys and Wipro as well as Unacademy investor Facebook among others Chinese investors.

Unacademy said on its statement, We have been closely monitoring the situation and it would like to assure our users that no sensitive information such as financial or location has been breached. Data security and privacy protection of ours users is of utmost importance to use .that only 11 millions users were affected as per investigators- nearly 22 millions numbers reported by Cyble.
Bleeping Computers claimed that it was able to see hashed passwords amongst the records available in the exposed database. It is also reported that the hacker has in addition database to user records.

You need to make account with the following another free email services like outlook, yandex, rediffmail and yahoo. They are more secure email companies even they don’t track your email activities.
Don’t use always personal Gmail address in any social media or new applications while creating account. Use Gmail for Android + Google services only and use outlook, yandex mail, redifmail and yahoo emails for business and education accounts only.
